SAWMILLS

Biewer Lu mber Sawmills
Biewer Sawmills are fully automated, modern, high-tech facilities located in McBain, Michigan and Prentice, Wisconsin—right in the heart of Red Pine country. Our sawmills are vertically integrated to provide the highest quality building products for our customers. Biewer encourages environmentally responsible sustainable forestry practices, and employs several foresters at each mill to manage timber procurement.

Logs that are procured for Biewer Sawmills have been harvested from federal, state, county and private lands. Biewer Sawmills, a division of Biewer Lumber, is one of the few treaters who saw their own lumber. We specialize in Red Pine, but can also process other species, such as white and Jack Pine.

When a log enters the mill, it is barked and bucked to length. The log is then scanned and a computer determines the best yield for that particular piece of timber. This may consist of dimensional lumber, timbers or both. As the two largest volume, random length mills in the Midwest, we have the capacity to produce 160-plus million board feet of high-quality dimension lumber and timber annually.

All lumber processed by Biewer Sawmills has been heat-treated to eliminate transferable fungus and pests. Our finished product is stamped with heat-treated and association imprints. Orders can be paper wrapped upon request.
