WHY RED PINE

Pinus Resinosa, commonly known as Red (Norway) Pine is the only softwood species naturally found in the northern Great Lakes region that readily accepts CCA treatment. Biewer Lumber’s Red Pine is wane restricted with small, tight knots and graded for optimum appearance.

The strength properties of Red Pine lend themselves well for use in construction applications, such as girders, beams, joists, studs and trusses. Red Pine is 30% less dense than yellow pine, which makes it naturally easier to use for framing and other applications. Red Pine also remains lighter after treatment, which helps to minimize freight cost.

Biewer Lumber and its divisions are located in the heart of Red Pine country in the Great Lakes region. Our Private Landowner Assistance Program ensures the protection and future availability of our products, as well as environmental responsibility.

Biewer foresters personally inspect Red Pine tree farms to procure only the best trees for production. Our central location enables us to pass savings on to our customers in freight, especially because Red Pine is lighter than Yellow Pine.
