New state-of-the-art sawmill in Newton, MS.
Biewer is proud to announce that our new sawmill in Newton, Mississippi is officially up and running! On April 14th, Mississippi Governor, Phil Bryant and Tim Biewer joined local and county officials for the official ground-breaking ceremony. “This is a great day for Newton and the entire East Mississippi region as Biewer Lumber takes the next step toward creating 125 new jobs and significant capital investment in Newton County,” Bryant said. “I congratulate the Biewer team on this milestone and look forward to visiting the company’s state-of-the-art sawmill, once it is officially open for business.”
An inside look of the Biewer – Newton, LLC Sawmill:
As of January 19th, 2017 Biewer – Newton, LLC began shipping lumber. Biewer – Newton, LLC – will produce an estimated at 250 MMBF per year, with a focus on dimensional lumber and timbers. With this new production, the mill will allow Biewer to expand mill production in the south, in an area with abundant fiber supply with strong support from both local and state government.
